- All the rooms in the Cappadocian cave hotels are unique. There are no two that are exactly the same. So if you liked a room at a booking website, it’s possible that you will be given a different-looking room. Some hotels offer an option of choosing a specific room. So, if it’s important for you, those are the hotels you need to look at. For example, Kale Konak in Uchisar.
- Most of the cave rooms do not have any windows. If it’s a concern for you, check with the hotel management to see if they can guarantee that your room will have windows or a terrace/balcony.
- A lot of the cave hotels are situated on two or more levels, sort of climbing up a rock. As a result, it takes going up or down a set of (often steep) steps to get to your room. If you have trouble walking or have small children with you, it’s better to make sure that your room will be on ground floor before booking.
- Sometimes the cave walls might be a source of particular sort of dust, so if you are allergic to dust, you might consider a stone room/barrel-vaulted room instead.
- Cave hotels offer only bed and breakfast type of deal. Sometimes dinner can be booked beforehand and paid extra. If you are interested in half-board deal, it’s better to check more traditional kind of hotels in the area. For example, Toursit in Goreme or Dinler in Urgup.
